Abstract
This chapter is about two further ways to measure behavior (and other events): checklists and rating scales. These two methods are less precise and accurate than the direct, immediate measurements described in Chapter 3, yet usually less labor- intensive and often sufficiently precise and accurate for certain clinical purposes. In practice, checklists and rating scales blend into one another, but for the sake of clarity, they will be discussed separately here.
