Abstract
A major issue with the deployment of IBE schemes is that the PKG is able to obtain a secret key of any user and hence will be able to decrypt any ciphertext. This is called the problem of inherent key escrow in IBE schemes. Methods to avoid this problem have been discussed in the literature. Below we briefly discuss some of these methods.
