Abstract
Drying hair is as much an art as a practical necessity. Techniques come and go but the ultimate goal remains the same, for drying to be the means to a beautiful end. How you dry your hair creates that final style. Successful drying is somewhat more complicated than pointing a dryer at your head and switching on, or leaving hair to dry haphazardly by itself. It takes know-how to pick the appropriate method at any one time and skill to choose the tools for the job and to manipulate them. Learn to hold and handle drying and styling equipment just like professionals stylists do. What’s the point of paying for an expensive cut or perm when you don’t know how to style the shape yourself. Bubbles of air through hair give bounce and body. Your role is to artificially create them. The hairdresser lays the groundwork but between salon visits requires your assistance. You’ll obtain greater personal satisfaction from their efforts if you feel in control. Know what does what, and why.
