Potential ecological interactions and challenges for the management of Spotted-Wing Drosophila in recently invaded regions
- Submission status
- Closed
Drosophila suzukii, also known as spotted-wing drosophila, is native to Asia and was first detected in 2008 simultaneously in continental United States and Europe. Since then D. suzukii has become a key pest of small fruit crops, including raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and cherries. The species is currently present also in South America, Africa, and Oceania.
