Psychological Interventions Across a Stepped Care Framework
- Submission status
- Closed
There is growing recognition that stepped care models of interventions within mental health are not only effective, but necessary for reducing the rising trends of mental health disorders. Many government bodies around the world have adopted stepped care models of mental health, and similar frameworks have been applied by drug and alcohol services. Stepped care models provide a framework for organising interventions from preventative intervention, early interventions, low intensity interventions, all the way up to intense interventions. Clients can enter a model of care at whatever point bests suits them and do not need to start from lowest intensity service and work their way up. Stepped care frameworks allow us to shift away from a reactive approach to treatment, with greater focus on prevention and early intervention.
This Collection focuses on bringing together papers which discuss psychological interventions within the context of a stepped care framework, ranging from preventative interventions, early interventions, low intensity intervention, moderate intensity interventions and high intensity interventions for acute presentations. In your submission, please explain where your intervention fits within a stepped care framework, e.g., is it a preventative/public health intervention, is it a moderate intensity intervention, does it fit across multiple steps within a stepped care framework, etc.
We encourage submissions relating to any psychological or public health intervention which fits within a stepped care framework. We accept original research submissions including reviews, case reports, empirical findings, target conceptual articles that evaluate and synthesize the research literature and/or make important theoretical contributions, and submissions explaining program development.
Keywords: stepped care, mental health, interventions, addictions, psychological interventions
Early submission deadline: 31 October 2023
