CHITEL/QUITEL 2024

The Congress of Theoretical Chemists of Latin Expression (Chimistes Théoriciens d'Expression Latine), whose acronym is alternatively spelt CHITEL or QUITEL, is an annual and historic meeting dedicated to theoretical chemistry. The 2024 edition will be held in Namur, Belgium, in June-July 2024.

Editors

  • Tárcius N. Ramos

obtained his graduation from the Sao Paulo State University (2012) and his Master (2015) and PhD (2020) degrees from the University of Sao Paulo, all in Brazil. After his studies, he moved to Belgium and has been acting as a post-doctoral researcher since 2020 at the University of Namur. His area of interest lies in the description of the electronic structure of atoms and molecules both isolated and in solvent, as well as at the liquid-air interfaces. Special emphasis has been placed on the linear and nonlinear spectroscopy properties and the environmental effects by combining classical molecular dynamics and quantum mechanics at the DFT leve

  • Yoann Olivier

obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Mons in 2008. From 2009 to 2013, he held a postdoctoral fellowship from Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) and went on postdoctoral stays with Prof. Claudio Zannoni at the University of Bologna and Prof. Henning Sirringhaus at the University of Cambridge. From 2013 to 2019, he was a research associate at the University of Mons and recently joined in July 2019 the Chemistry and Physics departments of the University of Namur as a lecturer.

  • Benoît CHAMPAGNE

is professor of theoretical chemistry at UNamur. His research interests include the elaboration and applications of theoretical chemistry methods in the fields of linear/nonlinear optics, polymer quantum chemistry, and vibrational spectroscopies. Recent studies encompass NLO responses of molecular switches, diradical compounds, and fluorescent proteins, thermochromism, thermally-activated delayed fluorescence. Many of these investigations are carried out within an interdisciplinary environment where the theoretical work is intertwined with the synthesis and experimental/spectroscopic characterizations.
