ConGen 2022: Recommended Reading List
- Submission status
- Closed
Conservation Genetics, Population Genomics, and Molecular Ecology, September 6-17, 2022
The goal of ConGen 2022 is to provide training in conceptual and practical aspects of population genomic data analyses to improve understanding of the evolutionary and ecological genomics of natural and managed populations.
ConGen teaches Fundamental statistical and computational approaches that will help prepare students and professionals to use population genomic data in their work. Emphasis will be on next-generation sequence (NGS) data analysis (RADs, DNA capture, and genome sequencing/resequencing) and interpretation of output from fundamental and novel statistical approaches and software programs (including R and Linux command line).
ConGen 2022 is co-sponsored by Conservation Genetics, Conservation Genetics Resources, and Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution. This recommended reading list of course-themed content from these publications is freely accessible until September 30, 2022.

Gordon Luikart
Dr. Luikart works at the Flathead Lake Bio Station (FLBS) and the Montana Conservation Genomics Laboratory (MCGL) at the University of Montana. His general research interests are in conservation biology, population genetics, and ecology. Dr. Luikart's research applies the principles and tools of population genetics/omics to fish, wildlife, and a variety of other species, including invasive species and parasites that are threatening native ecosystems and regional economies. His current work includes predicting adaptive gene flow rates and population persistence in species challenged by climate warming.
