Over the past few years, significant investments have been allocated to the construction of new railway lines, along with the rehabilitation and upgrading of existing ones. Several of these railway lines encompass a substantial number of critical infrastructures that operational and safety conditions should be considered throughout their life cycle. Advancements in science and technology have recently facilitated enhanced structural condition monitoring of railway infrastructures. This improvement primarily stems from the implementation of intelligent strategies for inspection, monitoring, maintenance, and risk management. Within this framework, the goal of this Special Issue is to consolidate the most recent research studies, findings, and achievements related to the condition monitoring of railway infrastructures.
