Bibliometric Analysis and Systematic Review Studies on Sustainable Development

Literature reviews play an essential role in academic research, by identifying existing knowledge and to base the research paths. In this regard, studies on bibliometric analysis and systematic review have been increased among all fields, gaining immense popularity. These studies are important considering their scientific utility, once they hand large volumes of scientific data and produce high research impact.

This collection brings the state of art of the scientific literature on sustainable development. The aim is to present a collection of papers that identify and analyze the scientific literature on sustainable development, showing the knowledge base, the main studies, their characteristics, tendencies and emerging areas.

The collection includes studies with one of the following methodological approaches:

• Bibliometric review - Summarizes large quantities of bibliometric data by covering all the publications about SD field or related topic.

• Meta-analyses - Summarizes the empirical evidence of relationship between variables while uncovering relationships not studied in existing studies about SD field or related topic.

• Systematic Review - Summarizes and synthesizes the findings of existing literature about SD field or related topic.

Considering the methodological approach, we welcome papers related to environmental, economic, and social aspects of sustainable development, including all topics covered by the sustainable development goals: no poverty; zero hunger; good health and well-being; quality education; gender equality; clean water and sanitation; affordable and clean energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructure; reduced inequalities; sustainable cities and communities; responsible consumption and production; climate action; life below water; life on land; peace, justice, and strong institutions; and partnerships for the goals.

    Prof. Luciana Londero Brandli, University of Passo Fundo, Brazil. Her work focuses on sustainability in higher education, the Agenda 2030, Climate Change, Education for Sustainability and Sustainable Cities. She is Deputy Editor of the Encyclopedias of Sustainability in Higher Education and of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She serves on the editorial board of various journals, supervises a number of students on engineering, environment and sustainability issues and has in excess of 300 publications. She is the co-investigator in Brazil for the research project Transforming Universities for a Changing Climate.
