Numerical Analysis & Modelling in the Life Sciences: A topical collection in honor of the 70th birthday of Ezio Venturino

This is a topical collection focusing on scientific advancements in mathematical modelling and analysis of biological systems. This collection aims to publish high-quality scientific articles providing new biological insights as a result of rigorous mathematical analysis or development of new mathematical concepts and computational techniques relevant for the understanding of biological systems. Articles of interdisciplinary nature or with cross-disciplinary approaches that consider new developments and methodologies in the context of mathematical and computational modelling applied to solution of problems in life sciences are most welcome. Topics include, but are not limited to, dynamical systems, mathematical ecology, population dynamics, evolution, epidemiology, and cancer models – all of them with an emphasis on differential equations, stochastic processes, and related computational techniques. All the mentioned topics fall within the scope of JOMB and are also covered by the International Conference “Numerical Analysis & Modelling in Applied Sciences” (NAMAS-24), September 16-20, 2024, Gaeta, Italy; https://sites.google.com/view/namas-24 .This collection is addressed to all scientists, who work on the above-mentioned research themes, also including the participants of NAMAS-24 Conference. The Collection is dedicated to Professor Ezio Venturino in the occasion of his 70th birthday.
