ISASC2024

The advanced engineering ceramics and composites are enabling materials for applications in aerospace, power utility, transportation, nuclear and chemical industries where long-term reliability and lifetime performance are critically needed. The ISASC conference has been held every 4 years in Korea. In this year, the 5th International Symposium on New Frontier of Advanced Si-Based Ceramics and Composites (ISASC2024) will also covers various aspects, such as processing, microstructural development, and properties of these ceramics, with a particular focus on thermo-mechanical, thermo-chemical, optical, environmental, and energy applications. The scope also covers functional ceramics, simulations and machine learning. The special issue collects selected contributions from some of the presentations of ISASC2024 held in Jeju, Korea in 2024 from 12 countries.
