Solid-state alkaline metal batteries with high energy density and safety

Topic introduction: (1) Novel cathode material design and preparation technology, advanced characterization techniques, theoretical studies and beyond. (2) Lithium (sodium)-metal host materials for high loading and low cost, including carbon, MOF, 3D structure construction, biomimetic materials. (3) Solid-state ionic conductors for solid-state alkaline metal batteries: new designs, simulations and mechanisms for the ionic conductors covering polymer electrolytes, inorganic ceramic electrolytes, sulfide electrolytes, halide electrolytes, etc. (4) Fundamental understanding of the issues of lithium (sodium)-sulfur battery, including redox reaction process, ion/electron transfer mechanisms, capacity degradation and thermal management, etc. (5) Interfacial engineering for electrolyte/anode interfaces (SEI) as well as electrolyte/cathode interfaces (CEI), including proposing strategies and design principles, mechanism analysis and development of the interphase layer. (6) Simulation and device-/material-level evaluation of electrode or electrolyte materials under particular external fields like temperatures, stress, deformation, and so on.
