Artificial Intelligence for the Next Generation Communication Systems

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and next generation communications systems are keywords that are becoming more and more pervasive in our everyday life. 5G systems are yet to reach their apex, and researchers now recognizes 6G, metaverse, augmented immersive reality as the research topics of the next future. In addition, this is the era of satellite systems with very dense constellations, where we are finally able to realize the satellite internet of things: autonomous driving and remote sensing are only two of the incredible applications of these new communication technologies.

The Topical Collection 'Artificial Intelligence for next generation communication systems’ intends to attract contributions from both the academia and the industry and is meant to expose the most recent advances in integrated design, planning, and optimization of AI for next generation communication systems.

The Research Topic ''Artificial Intelligence for next generation communication systems ' addresses the following non-exhaustive list of topics:

• Artificial intelligence for next generation communication systems physical layer and transceiver design

• Artificial intelligence for next generation communication systems resource allocation and multiple access

• Distributed Artificial intelligence for next generation communication networks

• Artificial intelligence applications in next generation communication systems

• Deep reinforcement learning for wireless communications
