Recent Trends in Energy Hubs

Nowadays each type of consumer requires many different types of energy at the same time. Thus covering the demands of electricity, heat, cooling, gas or hydrogen is essential. As a solution to cover those demands in efficient way, the concept of energy hubs may be found in recent research. Recently, the support of covering those demands is also supported by renewable energy resources (RES) and adequate energy storage systems (ESS). Thus this topical collection is toward recent research about:

• Planning of energy hubs / multicarrier energy systems

• Operation of energy hubs / multicarrier energy systems

• Forecasting of loads demands of different types of energy

• Forecasting the production from RES

• Forecasting the production from RES

• Optimization of RES and ESS operation

• Application of heuristics methods for modeling of energy hubs / multicarrier energy systems issues

• Application of mathematical modeling of energy hubs / multicarrier energy systems

• Application of artificial intelligence in energy hubs / multicarrier energy systems

• Economic issues of energy hubs / multicarrier energy systems

• Reliability issues of energy hubs / multicarrier energy systems

• P2X technologies

• Electric vehicles (EVs) and hydrogen vehicles (HVs) in energy hubs / multicarrier energy systems

Keywords: energy hubs; multicarrier energy systems; different types of energy; electricity; heat; cooling; gas; hydrogen; electric vehicles (EVs); hydrogen vehicles; P2X technologies
