Novel Trends in Solar Concentration Systems

Solar energy is one of the most promising renewable resources to replace fossil-fuel energy in the future. To efficiently harness the use of solar energy, solar concentration systems are widely used in solar energy research and applications. Therefore, advances in these systems are of paramount importance to extend their contribution to a sustainable world.

This proposed topical collection aims to showcase original research studies and/or reviews related to the recent progress in solar concentration systems and their applications. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to: the design and development of innovative solar collectors; primary, secondary, and tertiary concentrators, either imaging or non-imaging; advances in solar concentration and solar-to-energy conversion efficiency; design and development of renewable systems that use solar concentrators, such as solar-pumped lasers and high-concentration photovoltaic systems; progress in solar tracking systems; design and development of solar collectors with high tracking error compensation; advances in materials for harnessing the solar energy, as well as for the development of cost-effective solar concentration systems.

Keywords: Solar Energy; Solar Concentrators; Solar Collectors; Solar Energy Conversion; Solar-Pumped Lasers; Solar Tracking; High Concentration Photovoltaics; Solar Materials; Harnessing Solar Energy; Solar Concentration Applications
