Scalable Computing for Large-Scale Multimedia Data Analytics

Scalability is a core facet of large-scale multimedia data analytics in which scalable massive data processing can be accomplished by parallel architectures that take advantage of high-performance computer systems, cloud computing, and storage infrastructure. The scalable computing industry has rapidly grown and advanced, and has now reached a stage where emerging challenges and developments need a technical forum in which they can be discussed. This special issue of the Journal of Intelligent Information Systems entitled Scalable Computing for Large-Scale Multimedia Data Analytics aims to showcase and disseminate research addressing current and future parallel computation, focusing specifically on designing algorithms, introducing and implementing parallel and distributed architectures, and using the distributed and parallel machine to solve real-life problems for Large-Scale Multimedia Data Analytics.
