Sustainable Materials for Engineering Applications

The special issue for sustainable materials for engineering applications primarily focused on the growing worldwide concern for environmental sustainability. As technology advances, it becomes essential to produce materials that not only exceed engineering criteria but also have a low environmental impact. The special issue is focused on materials that contribute to lowering greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, and constructing climate-resilient structures. This emphasis aligns with the critical need to shift to low-carbon and climate-resilient engineering solutions. The initiative also contributes to creating awareness about the necessity of the incorporation of sustainability into to engineering domain. It enables scientists, engineers, and researchers to communicate their results, approaches, and achievements in making materials that contribute to a more sustainable future in a range of technical applications spanning from construction to manufacturing.
