Abstract
Visiting china, it is easy to be transfixed by the rush of development: the hullabaloo of high-volume traffic, the construction of seemingly endless rows of high-rises, the hopefulness of so many people bent on improving their lives. Every day, the PRC is working to transform itself into a modern, developed nation—an economic and political powerhouse in Asia and in the world.
