Zusammenfassung

Mitte der 1980er Jahre entstanden nahezu gleichzeitig mehrere prozessorientierte empirische Studien zum Übersetzen: P. Gerloff (1988), H.P. Krings (1986a) und W. Lörscher (1991). Diese Studien weisen eine Gemeinsamkeit auf: Sie alle arbeiten mit introspektiv gewonnenen verbalen Daten, d.h. mit Äußerungen von Versuchspersonen über das, was während des Übersetzens in ihrem Kopf abläuft. Die erhaltenen verbalen Daten zeigten diesen Forschern, wann die Testpersonen Schwierigkeiten hatten, und wie sie während der Übersetzung mit diesen Schwierigkeiten umgegangen sind.
