Martyr-Target-Victim

Interrogating Narratives of Persecution and Suffering among Queer Youth

  • Chapter
Youth and Sexualities

Abstract

This chapter offers a critical look at teaching—my teaching. It traces some of the valuable lessons I’ve learned during the first three years of designing, preparing, and teaching a new course in a new field. It also captures a dramatic shift in my thinking about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth, teachers, and parents, and the appearance of a series of new questions that have emerged for me through the teaching of this course.
