Abstract

Charles Burton, a County Court Judge, served as the chairman of the Palm Beach Canvassing Board during the 2000 recount controversy. He received his undergraduate degree from Suffolk University in 1980 and his Juris Doctorate from Nova University College of Law in 1984. After law school, he was a partner in the law firm Burton and Burton in Boca Raton from 1990 to 1995. Following that, he served as Assistant State Attorney in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. In May of 2000, Governor Jeb Bush appointed Burton to the Palm Beach County Court.
