Abstract
Cassie’s mother, Misty Bernall, in her book She Said Yes: The Unlikely Martyrdom of Cassie Bernall, observed, “One thing Brad [her husband] and I were totally unprepared for after Cassie’s death was the extent of its impact beyond Littleton.” According to Misty Bernall, letters and gifts flooded into her home from around the world. As testimony to the extent of Cassie’s renown, she was even told by friends who had visited a remote village in the Sudan that people there knew of Cassie and had wanted to create a memorial to her in their church.1
