Abstract

Since the last general election Labour and the Liberal Democrats have been engaged in a unique exercise in political co-operation. In the field of foreign affairs, this has led to constructive discussions on a number of issues and the publication of joint policy papers on European defence co-operation, objectives for EU institutional reform and the future of the United Nations.
