In October 2014, a group of university educators came together for a workshop that sought to consider the future of higher education. Unlike other similar types of gatherings, ours focused squarely on how our teaching and learning environments address societal needs, now and into the future. Within the group, there was unanimous agreement that our higher education environments are no longer preparing our students to meet the needs of society and that we have to reorient our pedagogical practices or face universities becoming redundant.
