Abstract

The aim of this chapter is twofold. First, it summarises the main arguments and findings of the book, focusing on demand- and supply-side dynamics. More specifically, the chapter discusses the ways in which the Golden Dawn has capitalised on social discontent by putting forward its ‘nationalist solution’, that is, a discourse, which emphasises the twin fascist myths of societal decline and national rebirth. Second, the chapter places the Golden Dawn within the broader framework of democratic politics and Greek political culture, discussing the potential implications of this phenomenon on policy and the political mainstream.
