Abstract

Scholars such as McCormick (1999) remind us that African development is closely tied to entrepreneurship and small business development. This assertion is consistent with the central theme of this book. It is therefore important to understand the nature of entrepreneurial activities in Africa, focusing especially on their development potentials in order to gain an insight into opportunities and constraints to economic development on the subcontinent.
