Abstract

This chapter describes the different songwriting methods where the primary emphasis is on creating lyrics. It begins with descriptions of the methods that are governed by high levels of predetermined components (Figure 8.1, upper left quadrant), and progresses gradually toward methods where the degree of predetermined musical and lyrical elements are lower (the lower left quadrant).1
