Abstract
Translator’s summary: While the Central States find it difficult to maintain a united front against Chu, two morality tales unfold, one involving a poisoning in the state of Xu that may or may not be classed an assassination, and the other dealing with yet another reluctant ruler, this one in the state of Cao. The chapter closes with a succession dispute in the house of Zhou.
