Abstract

“Barbara Boxer Gives a Damn” might be a crass way to begin our voices section for chapter 4, but more than 30 years ago, while running for the US House of Representatives, Barbara Boxer decided this was an appropriate campaign slogan to demonstrate to fellow Californians, and the American people, that she gives a damn about them and the environment (Eco Talks Archives 2014).
