Abstract

This final chapter in Part III takes a more longitudinal perspective. At first it uncovers a discrepancy between the empirical developments over time vis-à-vis the results from the cross-sectional chapters. However, a closer look at the developments in Egypt show how the theoretical building blocks of the NOV framework help to understand the dynamics between the explanatory forces at work.
