Abstract

The preceding chapters have gone some way to situating OILE theoretically and demonstrating its impact on language development experimentally. However, for some language teachers, the impression that such activities are somewhat removed from the preoccupations of classroom learning may remain. It is, therefore, natural to turn our attention to the issue of the pedagogical consequences of the new relationship which many learners enjoy with English.
