Abstract

The late legendary investor Martin Zweig was one of the first asset managers to apply the insights of modern academic monetary economics to Wall Street. Even as a professor, before becoming a prominent money manager, one of his maxims was “don’t fight the Fed,” an investment rule of thumb that continues to resonate, especially after the extraordinary monetary policies that followed the financial crisis of 2008–2009.
