The EU, the IAEA and the Comprehensive Approach

  • Chapter
The EU and the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons

Part of the book series: The European Union in International Affairs ((EUIA))

Abstract

This article seeks to apply a Comprehensive Approach paradigm for the EU to the specific context of a thematic and multilateral area: the EU and the IAEA. In so doing, it should become evident that case studies in the application of the Comprehensive Approach would benefit to be developed. They should cover geographic crisis situations but also key thematic areas in the European Security Strategy (ESS), including issues relating to effective multilateralism and non-proliferation/counterterrorism.
