Abstract

The Garut District of West Java Province in the past consisted of beautiful villages characterized by fertile terrains of paddy fields and dry farms. This district has been renowned for its high quality agriculture products such as corn, bananas and various vegetables. Based on the statistical data of the Bureau of Statistics of Indonesia, nearly 90 per cent of the local population in the Garut District makes their living in the agriculture/livestock sectors and the associated sub-sectors.
