Abstract
It is always difficult for an economist to speak to a multidisciplinary audience about ecological problems. Usually among noneconomists the perception is that economists, by preaching economic growth and by praising globalization, not only are neglecting ecological problems but are supporting an ideology responsible for the ecological crises of our time.
