Abstract

Feminist philosophy of religion is another significant and vibrant area that has developed fairly recently in the field. Feminist philosophers have argued that, among other things, the way philosophy of religion is written and practiced is suffused with gender bias.1 But their work is not only critical. They have also argued that, among other things, social location and personal commitment significantly affect one’s actions and beliefs, including one’s understanding of religion and of the divine, and that one’s conceptions of the divine also affect her or his ideas and attitudes about human beings and their place in the world, in particular with respect to gender.
