Abstract

This chapter examines the relation between stem cell biology and clinical medicine. Unlike the emerging interface with systems biology, the association of stem cell research and clinical medicine is quite entrenched. Indeed, there is a sense in which clinical values are constitutive of stem cell biology. Clarifying this statement draws together many results from earlier chapters. So this final chapter provides a capstone to this book, as well as indicating areas for future work.
