Children Navigating Touch in ‘New’ Family Forms

Part of the Palgrave Macmillan Studies in Family and Intimate Life book series (PSFL)

Up until this point, I have shown that bodies are integral to how children relate to their siblings in caring and communicative practices, play and provocation in their families and homes. I have considered the material and embodied ways in which children negotiate and seek to maintain connections with family members in the context of changing family relationships through family keepsakes, photographs and gifts. Bodies clearly matter in children’s considerations and enactments of personal relationships.
