Abstract
With the Oslo Agreements, questions were raised regarding the position of the Israeli army in the future. Would the IDF continue to stand at the center of society, would the traditional involvement of the Israeli generals in politics be reduced, and what might the reaction of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) be to the possibility of solving political problems without military means?
