Abstract

I take up again in this chapter a theme that, in one way or another, has always been present in my work: the problem of social exclusion and the insensibility of a significant part of society toward this exclusion. I think that what fascinates me, like so many others, is not the theme in itself, but the experiences that we carry inside of ourselves and that mark our memory: the encounter with a poor person and the feeling of indignation that is born through seeing a human being reduced to a subhuman condition of life.
