Abstract
Behind the guidelines, the principles. And beyond recommendations about what is required, questions about what is feasible. It was claimed earlier that the present study could offer a window on transformations needed in the literature on conflict resolution as such. This literature, it was argued, is divided into two principal poles: one which explores ways in which parties to a conflict can be encouraged to come to terms with one another, and one which highlights social change as the best way of resolving many conflicts. Inasmuch as these two different approaches underlie the alternative explanations of the failure of Paris Plan examined here, it has been shown that they fail to incorporate fundamental problématiques.
