The Practice and Experience of Bizness

  • Chapter
The Russian Province After Communism

Abstract

In this chapter we now bring together the various issues and strands identified in the contextual and case study chapters, in order to present an integrated picture of how the transformation of the economic and political systems has had an impact on the practice and conduct of business in Volgograd. The momentous changes of the past decade in the political and economic spheres have overturned the former system of economic management, both at the national level and at the level of individual companies. How have individual enterprises and their managers responded to these changes? What are the main issues facing managers under the new circumstances being created by the establishment of a market economy?
