Abstract

In this chapter I continue to explore state level variation in policy action through brief case studies of the policy dynamics that culminated in charter school legislation in three states: California, Arizona, and Missouri. Because the case studies in the chapters that follow analyze charter schools located in California, I primarily focus on California’s charter school law and use the other two states to draw contrasts.
