Abstract

Often, the visiting committee chairperson is responsible for editing the individual reports and publishing a confidential committee report for the accrediting association during the on-site visitation or shortly thereafter. Since the committee chair usually has final authority for the content of the report, it is important for the educational institution to pay extra attention to the individual selected as the visiting committee chairperson. In addition to strong writing skills, the visiting team chair often has strong leadership and team management skills, and the ability to use information technology to produce an effective visitation report in a timely and accurate manner.
