Abstract
It is fitting that we should have ended with three chapters which, in their willingness to align Russian and Western screens in direct, cross-cultural juxtaposition with one another, represent a microcosm of the volume as a whole. In order to confirm the significance of that juxtaposition, and thus to bring the volume to a close, it would be helpful to remind ourselves how the juxtaposition was accomplished via a brief recapitulation of the argument pursued in each chapter, taking care to adumbrate themes that recur across the volume.
