Abstract

On our journey so far, we have seen how we can draw on what is known about document design, perception, production and analysis in order to construct a layered approach to fine-grained multimodal document analysis. We have illustrated the main layers that we have developed, showing how these can be used together to draw out similarities and differences across a range of page-based multimodal documents.
