The Holocaust

Part of the Ethnic and Intercommunity Conflict Series book series (EAI)

On January 27, 1945, Soviet troops pursuing the German army westwards came upon a place that defied human imagination. The place was called Auschwitz. Since 1942 between one and two million people had been gassed and incinerated in the camp. Most of those who died were Jews and died because they were Jews. The Holocaust, or Shoah, stands as a horrible monument to inhumanity and the consequence of prejudice.
