Abstract
The fundamental goal of this book has been to contribute to the ongoing debate on power sector reform in developing countries, particularly SubSaharan Africa (SSA), by presenting and analysing the reform process and implementation experiences in six countries in SSA. This task has essentially been accomplished. This chapter seeks to provide readers with a broad but necessarily tentative assessment of these experiences, and some policy-related issues that are critical to the reform of the sector. This assessment must remain tentative as many aspects of the reform in these countries have yet to be played out.
