Abstract

Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands are small European countries with well-developed environmental strategies. It is therefore interesting to consider how far they have managed to combine transport policy and environmental policy in order to achieve sustainable development. This chapter is based on my study of Danish, Swedish and Dutch transport policies in a European context (Tengström, 1999).
