Abstract

Energy policy is concerned with the strategies for the production, supply and distribution of primary energy and, where necessary, its conversion to a form suitable for final consumption. Primary energy includes fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas as well as nuclear fuels, and renewable energy sources such as wind, wave and solar power. The final consumption of energy is normally in the form of coal, gas, refined oils and electricity.
